Trivia answers, replayed
On the trivia summary and in room results, tapping an answer opens a sheet with its question and the board it was on, the answer tracing itself with the daily board leaderboard's board and trace.
Context
The end of a trivia run lists every question you met as its answer, in tiles, with "Solved" or "Skipped". The questions themselves were gone. Ru: "I want a way to show the questions those answers are attached to. Maybe when you tap the answer, but nothing where it all shows, so it's super text heavy."
Options
Each was mocked on the real summary with made-up questions, at 390×844 and 320×568.
| Option | What it is | Result |
|---|---|---|
| A · Opens in place | Tap a row and its question opens under it, one at a time, like a leaderboard row | Light and familiar, but text only |
| B · One card on top | The run's question card returns above the list and shows the question for the answer you pick | The card pushed the list down to about four answers on a 320×568 phone |
| C · Replayed, first mock | A sheet with the question, the full run board with the answer lighting up, and the answer and "Skipped" in a row under the board | Ru: "C is cool too… make sure we are using the same pattern as the daily board post gameplay leaderboard trace on the grid. Keep same idea, cleaner visual; the text on the bottom is too close" |
| C · Replayed, on the leaderboard's board | The question, the answer forming in the word pill, then the daily board leaderboard's small board with pressed tiles and the soft trace; "Solved" or "Skipped" under the title | Ru: "I like the option C for trivia so we see the answer and the swipe." Decision
Every answer row on the trivia summary (daily and solo) is a 48px button with a right chevron. Tapping it opens a sheet titled "Question N · Easy", with "Solved" or "Skipped" under the title. The sheet holds the question (800 17px, centred), the run's slot with a neutral word pill, and the board the question was on: the daily board leaderboard's .daily-mini board, its pressed tiles and its soft --trace line. The answer traces itself, a tile every 220ms after 450ms, the pill filling as it goes. Tapping the board plays it again; with reduced motion the whole answer shows at once. Under 360px the board is 232px and the slot's margins 12px, so the sheet stays on a 320×568 screen.
Room results open the same sheet from their question list, with who solved it under the title ("Solved by you, Sam" or "Nobody solved it"). Room results now save each question's ref and the seed, so every phone rebuilds the same board; results saved before 3.25.5 don't open.
Evidence
Measured in Chromium against the real build, with the database stubbed:
| Rows | 48px tall at 390 and 320 wide |
| A daily and a solo summary at 390×844 | the right question; the pill spells the answer; every answer tile lit, the trace drawn; 28px under the board |
| 320×568 | the board was 8px from the sheet's bottom; with the 232px board, 28px |
| Replay | tapping the board starts again from the first letter |
| Reduced motion | the whole answer at once |
| Close | the X, the dim, or Escape |
| Overflow | none at either size |
| The release check's audit | no number worse than 3.25.4 |
Consequences
- The summary stays a list of answers; a question appears only when asked for, and is said with the board you played.
- A word shown after play is traced the same way everywhere: the daily board's leaderboard, room results, and now a trivia answer.
- Players can see where an answer they skipped was hiding, which suits trivia's repeat rule: a question comes back up to three times.
- Two summary screens in
screens/were recaptured; they stay off the public site because they show answers.
